Influenster SlimFast VoxBox #It'sYourThing

It's been a bit since I've given a review on an Influenster VoxBox so here it goes...

Influenster sent me the SlimFast Advanced Nutrition VoxBox that they called It's Your Thing, for free to try out the products and test them. I was not entirely thrilled to get this VoxBox but nonetheless it was free, so I can't complain. I unfortunately have since eaten and drank all the products so I don't have a picture of everything. But I can give my honest opinion about the items that were in there.

First off the shake - this was probably the least bit thrilling to me. It was chocolate but had a nasty aftertaste. I will be honest here - I didn't like it so I didn't drink all of it. However, it's supposed to provide 4 hours of hunger control, it has 20g of protein and only 1g of sugar. I think these are all great benefits and I can't attest to the 4 hours of hunger control because I didn't finish the drink.  To some it might not have been so bad but for those that like chocolate shakes you know as well as I do that different brands have different tasting chocolate flavor. This was not appetizing at all. I probably would have preferred vanilla.

Next, there was the meal replacement bar. This was actually very good and it did pack a punch of protein and did in fact satisfy my cravings really well. The flavor I received was Dark Chocolate Sea Salt. This tasted really good and I would definitely buy more of these.

Finally, there were two 100 calorie snacks - one was chips in Sour Cream and Onion and the other was Cinnamon Bun Drizzled Crisps. Both of these were really good and I didn't feel guilty eating the whole bag because it was a small bag and only 100 calories.

Overall, not a bad VoxBox. Again, can't really complain because it was free. I did like the bar and the snacks but I could have done without the shake. Thanks Influenster for the chance to try new products because then I can make an informed decision about whether to go purchase them for myself.

Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Holiday Palette Review

Too Faced always comes out with the cutest packaging for their holiday palettes. I was not surprised when I noticed this year's holiday collection was called Christmas in Paris. Oh my goodness....the packaging on their sets is just adorable! I missed out on last year's collection so I just had to make sure I got at least one set this year.

I decided to purchase the Le Grand Chateau. Boy was I glad I did! The set comes with 3 palettes - Paris in Love, Paris After Dark, and Paris Au Naturale. There's a total of 18 eyeshadows, 1 bronzer, 2 blushes and a deluxe sample of Better than Sex Mascara. I almost giggle whenever I say that.

You can purchase this from TooFaced.com or on Ulta's website. I believe it's completely sold out at Sephora. I purchased mine from Ulta about a month ago. The set retails for $49 and it's a $215 value! I waited to put a review because I really wanted to use the products before expressing my honest opinions about it.

So here's the breakdown of the palettes:

Pink Palette, Paris In Love:
  • Amour Eye Shadow (semi-matte cream)
  • Fleur Eye Shadow (peach pink w/ light shimmer)
  • Je t'aime Eye Shadow (light blue pink w/ sliver glitter)
  • Moi Eye Shadow (medium shimmery brown w/ gold)
  • Cherie Eye Shadow (pewter foiled shimmer)
  • Tout Suite Eye Shadow (deep brown w/ large silver glitter)
  • Jolie Bronzer (shimmer bronze)

Black Palette, Paris After Dark:
  • Le Marias Eye Shadow (white pearl w/ pink)
  • Rendezvous Eye Shadow (matte taupe)
  • Provence Eye Shadow (deep purple w/ blue glitter)
  • Parfait Eye Shadow (nude w/ multishift)
  • Très Chic Eye Shadow (deep purple/black w/ pink glitter)
  • Noir Eye Shadow (matte black)
  • Très Fab Blush (matte soft pink)

Turquoise Palette, Naturale:
  • Pot Du Crème Eye Shadow (vanilla cream)
  • Fifi Eye Shadow (light taupe)
  • La Femme Eye Shadow (deep matte brown)
  • Bonjour Eye Shadow (copper foiled gold)
  • Merci Eye Shadow (shimmer warm brown)
  • Oui Eye Shadow (deep brown w/ large gold shimmer)
  • Mademoiselle Blush (matte peach)

(Eye Shadows) 0.04 oz each) (Blush 0.19 oz each) (Better Than Sex Mascara 0.17 oz)

Be aware that all of the really dark shadows like Oui, Tres Chic, and Noir are so pigmented that you have to use makeup remover to get them off. I swatched them using my fingers and my fingers were stained after using a makeup wipe to remove it.

Okay so that's the lineup and now for the photos. I used the flash to show you how pigmented they were. Be aware too that some of the shadows can appear chalky when swatching but I didn't have a problem with fallout under my eyes and they blend beautifully. The only item I didn't like was the bronzer in Jolie. I felt it was too shimmery and too orange toned for me. I think it would work great actually as a shadow or a transition color for your eyelids. I am very fair skinned so this might look better for deeper skin tones.

Paris In Love

Deluxe Better Than Sex Mascara
Overall - I LOVE THIS SET!!! I believe for the price you are getting a really good deal. I also love how the shadows and blushes perform. Like I said, I could really do without the bronzer. However, I will use it as a shadow instead. I have a love/hate relationship with the mascara. I used to hate it and now I love it. On it's own I don't like it that much but when I layer it with another mascara I end up loving it. The colors are all very pigmented, blend well and stay on with or without a primer. Of course I have very dry skin and my eyelids don't get super oily or anything but I always use an eyeshadow primer. These are perfect for a gift for yourself, someone who may be looking for new makeup or just anyone in general. They are so giftable because on the back of each palette it says To..... From.... So go ahead and make someone's Christmas or birthday or just a nice gift for any occasion. This set is Limited Edition so you better jump on it if you've been eyeing it.

Way to go Too Faced! This one is a hit for sure!!!!

Influenster Pumpkin Voxbox Review

Okay so this post is different than my normal posts....
I received in the mail the Pumpkin VoxBox from Influenster to try all the products for free. The opinions I'm about to share are indeed my own and I was not paid to post this. So here it goes...

First off what is Influenster?
Influenster is a site that is free to join where you can browse and discover 100's of thousands of products and get information and reviews on them. You create a profile, link up your social media networks, answer a few questions here and there and then occasionally (if you're lucky) you will receive VoxBoxes from them with products to test and review. All they ask in return is that you share your honest opinions on your social media sites. It's cool because a lot of times you get rewarded with more items. Plus you get a whole box of good stuff - some makeup, some hair care, some yummy snacks, household items, etc. I've gotten quite a few now and I love them all!

So the one I got this season was called the Pumpkin VoxBox and they kind of labeled it a "mom" essentials box. What was inside?
The Pumpkin VoxBox

Downy Fabric Softener
Werther's Original Soft Caramels
Pop Chips in Sea Salt
Goodness Knows Bar
Mr. Sketch Scented Marker
Coupons

As you can see from the photos -

  • Downy Fabric Softener in April Fresh (10 fl oz. ) - enough for 12 loads
  • Pop Chips in Sea Salt (8 oz. bag) - They tasted so good and very light and airy.
  • Goodness Knows Bar (1.2 oz. bar) in Apple, Almond, Peanut & Dark Chocolate - these break into 4 individual squares so it's perfect for throwing in your bag or snacking on the go.
  • Werther's Original Soft Caramels (1.34 oz. bag) - These taste just like the original caramel ones that are hard that they make only they are soft. So delicious!
  • Mr. Sketch Scented Washable Marker - I think the scent I got was Strawberry and it definitely smells good. Only downside is I thought I could use it as a highlighter but if you press too hard it bleeds through
  • Coupons - 1 free bag of Alexia Foods item, 1 free Yucatan Guacamole, Save $1 on a 12 pk or higher count of Mr. Sketch Markers

All in all, I'm very pleased with this box and love everything in it. I have already eaten all the food, haven't redeemed the coupons yet and I use the fabric softener almost every load. Great job with this one Influenster!!

Review of Tastykake Minis from Influenster

Alright here it is folks, another Voxbox unboxing. Influenster sent me the Tastykake Minis to try out for free. First things first,  I've never even heard of these so I was super excited to try them.

When I opened the box there was a full size box with 8 packages of 3 each mini cupcakes. What immediately caught my eye was that they were filled with Reese's Peanut Butter. I love Reese's. Then there was a drink koozie, a hat and some coupons.

I thought how cool to receive this little box of joy for free to celebrate making it through a rough day with my toddler. Yes I have many of those kinds of days.

Well I opened up one of the packages and took a bite and first off, the icing is a bit rich. I dare say too that maybe just too much icing. After the first initial bite you reach the center which is peanut butter. It's creamy but again tastes super sweet. It doesn't taste like super peanut buttery like a Reese's does to me. This almost tasted like peanut butter icing.

All in all, these are okay but definitely not my favorite. The cake part was moist but I would definitely want to try another kind in these. Aside from being 180 calories for one pack of 3 I might have actually enjoyed these more if they were less calories. But they were free so I can't complain.

What do you guys think? Have you tried these? I found some more at my local Publix.

You can find out more information by visiting:

*These were sent to me by Influenster for free to try out. I was not paid to say these things or to post this review. These opinions are my own.

You're An Artist

Have you ever given much thought to creating an eye look that would match your bag? I know that may sound strange but hear me out...

Anyone that knows me knows I'm a bit of a "bag lady." Now I'm not talking about someone with a bunch of stuff in their bag. I mean I have a closet full of purses, handbags, clutches and totes. I have all sizes and colors. I mean I probably have the whole spectrum of the rainbow in my closet.

There's a certain art to handbags. I have a style entirely unique from other people. I love large bags, crossbow bags and clutches. I guess you could also say I'm a bit of a bag addict. Yes I have a real problem. I go into a store, see a cute bag and think "I've got to have that." Nevermind the fact that I have probably 40 other bags almost like it. Okay I'm exaggerating I probably have 40 total bags, not 40 of one kind.

But as I take a look at all of those bags; from the grays, greens, purples, pinks, and teal...I realize that I have eyeshadow that matches perfectly to each one. I also find that more often than not I'm matching my eye look to my bag color.

Maybe that it just coincidence or maybe I'm intentionally doing it. Whatever the case, it's kind of a fun way to express myself artistically. I'm not a real artist and sometimes my fashion sense isn't all that great but I'm becoming more aware of fashion as it relates to my makeup.

When you wear makeup you are making a statement. You're an artist that starts with a blank canvas and can experiment and create a look entirely all your own. The same holds true with fashion. You wear items and pieces that express who you are.

So the next time you pick up your bag or that eyeshadow brush think of it as a chance to be uniquely you for that day.

Sunshine Voxbox Review

So once again, Influenster has sent me a Voxbox to review. I was not paid to write this review and these opinions are my own.

So what was in this Voxbox?

Blue Diamond Sriracha Almonds
Vaseline Spray Moisturizer
Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Southern Belle
Dickinson's Witch Hazel Face Wipes
Infusium 23 Leave in Moisture Replenisher
Coupon for BarkThins snacking chocolate

Okay, so I was a bit upset that there were no actual BarkThins in the box but there was a coupon for a free bag.

So here's my review on each item:
Blue Diamond Sriracha almonds - so delicious. If you love spicy flavor then these are for you.

Vaseline Spray Moisturizer - At first it was hard to apply this. Lotion shot out of the can and onto the floor. I actually found it easier to hold the can closer to my leg and then spray. It did rub in quickly and didn't feel greasy. The scent I got was Aloe so I'm thinking this would be great as an after sun lotion.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish - I'm already an avid Sinful Colors nail polish user so this was an added bonus to have another color in my collection.

Dickinson's Witch Hazel Face Wipes - where have these been all my life? So good at removing makeup however they can be a bit drying to your face so I would recommend using these no more than every other day. They are not good for sensitive eyes as they can sting them so be careful.

Infusium 23 Leave in Replenisher - I've always loved Infusium 23 products so was super ecstatic to try this. At first I thought it would weigh my hair down. Boy was I wrong! It's very lightweight feeling in your hair and doesn't make it feel greasy. It smoothed my hair and even acted as a detangler for wet hair.

All in all, I'm very pleased with this box. Definitely everything was worth it and I may purchase some of these items again after I run out.

Celestial Seasonings Taste Test

Okay so have you tried any Celestial Seasoning Teas? I have tried quite a few but there's one I tried for the first time yesterday. I put it to a taste test to see what was so great about it. It was the Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea. Thank you Influenster for sending me this for free to try in my FrostyVoxBox.

It was so yummy. Tasted like I melted a candy cane in my cup. It tasted like your classic peppermint candy cane. It was slightly sweeter than their original Peppermint tea. Oh it was so good. Let me know in the comments what kind you have tried and whether you would try this kind.
